Kneipp Worldwide
The history
Kneipp Worldwide was founded in 1962 under the name “International Confederation of the Kneipp Movement (IKK)” in Lindau on Lake Constance (Germany). The member associations and clubs remain independent in their home countries and unite under the umbrella of Kneipp Worldwide.
Besides around 20 active members, including numerous national associations, there are smaller clubs, individual members, and initiatives in many countries that practice and promote Sebastian Kneipp’s teachings. Kneipp therapy is practiced not only in Europe but also in South Korea, Malawi, and North America. The focus of the work is on joint measures to further spread and establish the preventive and health-promoting approach of Kneipp’s health teachings.
The focus of the work is on congresses, member recruitment, and last but not least on the International Kneipp Action Days I.K.A.T. (Kneippiades) – a sociable, healthy, and active event that first attracted hundreds of Kneipp enthusiasts in 2001. Since then, the I.K.A.T. (Kneippiades) have become firmly established in the European Kneipp movement.
